Ford And Volvo Sitting In A Tree…9 November 2007
…and just getting along. There was speculation that Ford would be selling it’s Volvo brand like it did Aston Martin, but Ford’s chief Mulally is stating that Volvo and Ford are getting along fine, thank you very much. It may seem like a smart move because of some of Ford’s woes, and Volvo’s place in the luxury market, but Ford’s products, and financials, have been improving greatly. Though their recent announcement was basically they’re breaking even, they are gaining steam with their new product line. Ford’s quality and styling has greatly improved, and with Toyota’s blunders in those areas, American auto-makers like Ford have a great opportunity to take over the top ranks. So, visit your local Ford dealership and take a look at what they’ve got. You’ll be impressed, and won’t really care about that Volvo. CarKing Read Comments (0)
![]() Hyundai’s ThinkAboutIt.com Crashes Dog’s Firefox, Gets Mad9 October 2007
Hyundai’s browser/processor intensive ThinkAboutIt.com “micro”site crashed a dog’s Firefox browser, sending him on a kitty rampage.
While trying to research the Hyundai Elantra, Alfred’s attention was grabbed by the Hyundai website’s Flash teaser for the company’s “Think About It” campaign, so he clicked to see what it was all about. “I really just wanted to be told what to think,” Alfred stated in shame, “but when Firefox crashed I didn’t know where to turn for my thoughts. What was I to think?” In an unfortunate reaction of anger and thoughtlessness, Alfred, a mutt, turned on Peppers, his family’s new kitten. “I hadn’t been trained on the kitty litter yet, so the outcome of Alfred’s attack wasn’t so disappointing to me,” Peppers admitted. Alfred knows as much now about the Elantra as he did when he first visited HyundaiUSA.com, “It’s got the most room for a sedan in its class, and gets good mileage,” but his ears lose their perk from there, “Beyond that I have no idea what to think now.” Let’s hope this matter gets cleared up soon so that we can be told to think about it in the future. ![]() Amateur Lamborghini Design - Lamborghini Embolado9 October 2007
Amateurs! Sitting around thinking they’re all cool and know stuff! Not being paid…losers. Like Luca Serafini, for example. He doesn’t work for Lamborghini! And he goes and, on his own time, designs one! Please, have some respect for the professionals! Luca’s design for his fake Lamborghini, the Embolado as he likes to call it, is inspired from another crazy Spanish bull event. If you didn’t think the running of the bulls was ballsy enough, in the Toro Embolado they do it at night, with the bull’s horns on fire. It’s like there’s no Tivo in Spain so they have nothing better to do than come up with twisted events featuring raging bulls. So, the “amateur” design (click thumbnails for larger versions): Did you sense the sarcasm? This thing rocks like the Flintstones! CarKing Technorati Tags: Lamborghini Embolado Read Comments (0)

I know it’s not a car but when I saw these pictures of the XSR48 yacht I had to pass them on. I love the reflective exterior, but that Star Trek waiting room interior is really the balls! Check it out:

![]() The Ancient Wisdom Of The Mazda Taiki2 October 2007
I like Mazda vehicles, but you have to laugh when a designer states “Air is a very important substance, but it is invisible.” Nothing like melding the obvious with the asinine! That’s what Atsuhiko Yamada said, as reported by SunTimes, in describing the design process for the Taiki, a concept vehicle unveiled at the Tokyo motor show. Yamada followed his Confucius-like wisdom with “To know what is right and not to do it is the Britney Spears way.”

![]() Who Says The Japanese Are Small? Toyota Goes Long!28 September 2007
450 miles! Dang! That’s the estimated distance of Toyota’s new fuel cell without a recharge, about twice that of the current production model. Toyota ran its vehicle from Osaka to Tokyo, and in the ultimate F-Off to General Motors, they did it with the air conditioning on! Ohhh the gauntlet’s been tossed down! The only way GM can rebound would be to drive the 450 miles, with the air conditioning on AND THE WINDOWS DOWN! If they are able to successfully do that then the Japanese automaker will have no choice but to surrender. CarKing Technorati Tags: Toyota, Fuel Cell Read Comments (0)
![]() Are You In Atlanta? Looking For A Chevrolet?14 September 2007
My endeavor to continue promoting the American auto makers (like Chevrolet) brings me today to Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta’s a beautiful city and a great place to visit. Besides the obvious home of Coca-Cola, there’s the Georgia capital building, the Georgia Aquarium, sports teams like the Atlanta Falcons, and plenty of theatres for the arts. But, alas, this is a car blog. I’ll have to spill my travel guts elsewhere. So, returning to the theme, every city has it’s stellar American car dealership, and Atlanta certainly is no exception. The Jim Ellis group of dealerships offers many different makes, and a very friendly staff. The atmosphere at the Jim Ellis dealerships is inviting, and when you buy a Chevrolet from them you’ll get a great car too. I highly recommend Jim Ellis Chevrolet for those people looking for Chevrolet Atlanta. If you haven’t seen Chevrolet models recently, take a look. Their Silverado truck model is still one of the best on the road or at the job site. The Corvette’s a classic sports car that’s unbelievably fun to drive. Besides those classics, the new HHR is brilliant, and their other vehicles (like the Impala, Trailblazer, Aveo, Suburban) are all quality without sacrificing personality. That’s my take on it. If you’re in the need of a Chevy in or around Atlanta, give Jim Ellis Chevrolet a shot. CarKing Technorati Tags: Atlanta Chevrolet Read Comments (0)
![]() Top 10 Reasons To Buy An American Car17 August 2007
It appears that some people still need a little convincing that they should consider purchasing an American-made car for their next vehicle, so I’ve put together this list of the top ten reasons to buy an American car. 10. Fewer Wall Street suicides. 9. It’ll make Michael Bay feel like his career wasn’t a total waste. 8. If Flint, Michigan, turns around then Michael Moore has less to worry about. 7. The new Ford Taurus is a Ford Taurus in name only. 6. Since cars made in the United States don’t have to be shipped from overseas, you’re helping reduce emissions from the transportation of new vehicles to the sales floor. 5. Lindsey Lohan’s a crackwhore, fo’ rizzle! 4. Because maybe then your neighbor who makes them could afford to buy what you sell. 3. Suzuki commercials suck. 2. Tougher for George W. Bush to label you a terrorist. 1. Our economy sucks, not our cars. CarKing Technorati Tags: Top Ten Reasons To Buy An American Car Read Comments (0)
![]() Car Dealership Directories8 August 2007
Besides our own directory here at Car King, many car dealerships go looking for places to list their websites to reach more potential customers. There are some good ones out there, which I’ve linked to below for everyone’s convenience. Car dealership directories can be frustrating at times, because many seem abandoned. You can typically tell if this is the case by the site’s design, and sometimes they place a copyright date at the bottom. If the site looks like it’s from 1999, with odd color choices, it’s probably affectively dead. If the copyright date at the bottom is 2002, it’s probably in that same bucket — abandoned. Here are some good places to add a link to your car dealership’s website (besides here!). Auto Specific: General Directories With Auto Categories I hope you find those useful.
